What our Clients say about us

I was promoted to my first team leadership role and struggled to balance my individual workload and figure out how to be(come) a strong team leader. I heard really good feedback about this program from a colleague, and he strongly recommended I try it. He was right. I learned many tools and I feel much more confident as a leader. I got to know myself incredibly well throughout the program and was very lucky to have a great group that shared a high level of honesty and trust.

Marlen Krügener

Head of People & Culture, Mimi Hearing Technologies (Funded by Atlantic Labs)

This program eradicated my skepticism. It was jampacked with concrete, objective models and frameworks that stuck with me. The trainer's tireless and wholehearted commitment to our development further bolstered the sincerity of the program. I lead the finance function of a fast-growing start-up, and I have nothing but confidence with all of the leadership and management tools in my arsenal. Seeing the impact and growth in my team is the most satisfying achievement of my professional career.

Dylan Riley

VP Finance, Wire

As a founder, you do not necessarily consider coaching a top priority on the journey to startup success – there are so many other topics that you need to tackle. Before starting the ELT program, I was unsure what to expect and how valuable this time commitment would be. After attending all nine sessions, I can highly recommend this program to any founder that needs to develop themselves from a founder to an effective manager and hopefully to an inspiring leader as quickly as possible.

Sven Wissebach

Managing Director, store2be (Funded by Project A)

My biggest objective was to gather tools and insights on becoming a better manager and hopefully make the transition into a leader. Looking back, ELT gave me so much more than that. The course made me more aware of myself and my surroundings, gave me time to reflect upon myself and others, and gave me the necessary tools and practice to start my journey into a leader. All of that was combined with meeting great people and having lots of fun.

Tine de Jonghe

Director Performance Marketing, Spark Networks

ELT has been a wonderful playground for me to discover, experiment, and grow as a leader. It is well worth the time investment. When I joined the program, I was struggling to meet the needs of my team and achieve work/life balance. ELT has helped me to reach my full potential as a leader and I have profited from the implemented changes. The leaders I’ve met through the program have taught me so much and I deem these interactions to be one of the most valuable aspects of the ELT program.

FAQ

We have the answers to your question

How many participants are in one cohort?

We cap cohorts at 12 participants. This is to ensure that everyone has ample time to speak and practice live with the full group. Smaller groups also support a safe learning environment since larger groups can feel more chaotic and complex.

Can participants join some modules and not others?

No. Hopping in and out affects group cohesion, which is a pillar of our methodology. We want participants to feel what it is like to be part of a psychologically safe and high-performing team. This means that all participants are fully committed to the learning journey together. We ask that participants commit to joining all nine days and all 8 group coaching calls.

What makes this training different from others on the market?

There are several factors affecting the design that make this program unique.

(1) Emerging Leaders Training is an experiential journey in team and interpersonal dynamics. Other programs may teach similar content, but they teach it differently. To us, the content is not as important as how it is taught. We create an environment that encourages practice (more doing, less being talked-at), interpersonal risk-taking (making mistakes in service to learning), and critical thinking (tap into your own wisdom). Our trainers are masterful at creating psychological safety, which is a pillar of high team performance.

(2) We designed the program for adult learning. Adults learn when the topics are applicable and when they can see how a tool or method fits into their role. Programs that cram leadership training into 3-5 days are designed for profit maximization, not for learning. Condensed training blasts our brain with information, most of which is forgotten in the weeks that follow. Instead, we want our learners to retain the knowledge so we offer 1 training day per month and ensure plenty of time for practice and integration. The result is greater learning retention.

(3) We focus on leveraging the wisdom in the cohort. At the start of each training, we tell participants to look around the room (or zoom) because much of what they learn will come from these faces, not from the trainers. We believe that our participants have innate wisdom and lived experience that can be shared to support the others in the room. (4) We train with heart. Our trainers are imperfectly perfect, vulnerable, and courageous humans. We bring our full-selves to the program and are committed to leaving no learner behind.
